Strong, reliable timber, suitable for all garden installations. Angelim Amargoso (Vatairea paraensis Ducke) is a South American wood with a warm, amber, golden lemon hues. Quite unique coloration starts off bright with yellowish golden streaks, that change quite quickly to rich browns when in contact with oxygen. Excellent for all decking installations including high traffic patios, restaurants and pubs etc. When correctly laid it is among the most stable, reliable and high-performing of natural woods for decking, even though it is also very attractively priced. Its superb performance, combined with its understated, subtle aesthetics, have made Angelim Amargoso one of the natural woods most widely used around the world in exterior spaces.

Fitting methods
Face Screwing: The traditional method. Simply screw through the face of the board into your sub-frame. Always Pilot Drill before fitting screws and drill 2mm oversize holes. We recommend 400mm centre to centre joist spacing. Each hole can be plugged.
We recommend installing your decking boards with a hardwood decking wrench (see Decking Accessories section). This is a self-locking deck board straightening tool that can be used to hold bent boards straight whilst fasteners are installed.

Fitting Information
Whilst Angelim decking is a very stable hardwood, we recommend that you leave a 4-6mm spacing in between each board. Being a natural product there will be some expansion and shrinkage depending on climate. Please note that as hardwood specialists, we do not stock softwood for sub-frames. We recommend that your source this from a standard timber merchants. We recommend sealing the cut ends of your boards with an end grain sealer.
