JOIN US AS A STORE PERSON AT ROUND WOOD

We are seeking a Store Person to join our growing team.

Round Wood of Mayfield is a supplier of high-end products for the home and garden. These include oak-framed buildings, hardwood decking, cladding, engineered and solid flooring, joinery, beams, planters and garden features. Our headquarters are based in an ancient woodland near Mayfield, East Sussex and we have a workshop in Lamberhurst, Kent.   

We are looking for a friendly, physically robust Store Person to join our growing team at Mayfield, reporting to our Transport/Logistics Manager. The role is to receive and dispatch goods, while managing stock so that it is held in good order and is properly accounted for.

Responsibilities: 

  • Receive goods inward, including processing the stock into our inventory system.
  • Store and maintain stock in good order ready for picking and counting.
  • Maintain stock information in the company’s inventory management systems.
  • Package and despatch orders using our inventory and courier IT systems.
  • Provide assistance with loading delivery and customer vehicles.
  • Maintain the warehouse and yard stores areas. 
  • Assist with timber mill operations and biomass management operations. 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience: 

  • A reliable, fun, adaptable team player who can demonstrate a can-do attitude and the ability to use initiative. 
  • Physically capable of manual handling tasks. 
  • A good communicator.

Preferred experience and skills: 

  • Worked in a yard or warehouse environment. 
  • Able to operate a counter-balance forklift or other site vehicles. 
  • Able to drive a van to carry out local deliveries. 
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, inventory management systems.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent 

Salary: £12.50-£13.50 per hour depending on experience and skills
