Thermory® Benchmark thermo-ash decking is exceptionally durable and dimensionally stable with a deep, rich color. It is a stunning, real-wood decking material: timeless, long lasting, barefoot friendly and easy to install. D34 Profile allows to create a beautiful decking surface with no visible screws.
Thermory® only use high quality ash for their decking boards, harvested from well-managed forests in North-America where good growing conditions and strict drying standards are maintained. This range has been subjected to their ‘intense’ thermo-treatment’, which heats and steams materials up to a maximum temperature of 215°C, ensuring maximum stability and a dark, rich colour throughout the timber. This chemical free process also ensures a low moisture content, removes resin, reduces splitting strength and improves durability against decay. The end result is the transformation of responsibly sourced ash, a timber with limited exterior uses, into adecking material with class 1 durability credentials equal to Ipe and Teak.

Like any natural wood, Thermory® will begin to gently weather down once installed. This will include an attractive silvering/greying and the development of small, surface hairline cracks. Whilst many prefer to allow this appearance to develop, it can be checked through the regular application of Thermory® Thermo-ash oil.
The boards can be sanded back at any time to restore the original tones. The surface should be kept clean of leaves, pine needles and any debris that can hold moisture and attract mould and mildew. Barbecue spills, wines, condiments, dog nails, high heels, etc. can stain and scratch the surface. Most of these will fade and become less noticeable over time. Deeper scratches and stains can be blended with a light sanding.
Thermo Treated Ash boards should be installed using appropriate hidden fixing systems that allow for the boards to be fitted without creating weak points (such as drilling through timber).
D34 Profiles can be installed traditionally – using stainless steel deck screws or using TENI clips.
TENI clips are made of a UV and water-resistant material (polyoxymethylene) that is optimized for outdoor conditions.
The clips leave a 6-mm gap between the boards.
The clip thickness provides an 8-mm distance between the board and the joist and prevents wood-to-wood contact to ensure the required ventilation.
The 4.2 x 45 mm stainless-steel screw is included with the clip and is suited to timber and RELO T aluminum joists. With any other aluminum joists, it is necessary to either use special self-tapping screws or drill pilot holes.
