Heveatech
The Hevea Brasiliensis is better known as the ‘Rubber Tree’. This species has a typical rubber or latex producing lifespan of 25-30 years, after which they have historically been felled and used for firewood, or even discarded. This timber is now used to achieve Heveatech decking. It is cut into small layers, which are bonded together under extreme compression and finished with a solid veneer. The result is an engineered decking board with a uniform moisture content and 50% less potential expansion and contraction than other hardwoods.
Hardwood Decking Wrench
We recommend installing your decking boards with the hardwood decking wrench. This is a self-locking deck board straightening tool that can be used to hold bent boards straight whilst fasteners are installed. See associated products below. We also offer a hire service.
Board Lengths
Our 195mm Heveatech is generally available in 3m, 4m & 4.9m lengths. Please discuss any other requirements you may have with us. Please note that decking boards may be supplied over length, so you will need to ensure that your fitter has the correct tools on site to cut them down.
Guarantee
Heveatech decking is extremely durable and is particularly suited to the often harsh and variable European climate. It is offered with a 15 year warranty against contamination and decay and a lifetime warranty against termite infestation.
Board Finish
Our Heveatech decking boards are supplied in a warm, light-teak finish. Please note, however, that as this is a natural product colour variation may occur. This can be observed in our photos, some of which are taken after rainfall, under different light conditions or feature treated decking boards. One face features a Danish profile that consists of two strips of reeding running along the length of the board. The other face is smooth. As this board is reversible, both sides can be used.
Fitting
As these decking boards are so stable, they can be fitted with the ArchiDeck Hidden Fastening System we exclusively supply. We recommend using only the AD-006 model with the 195mm boards, which allows for 6mm spacing. Alternatively, the boards can be face screwed (recommended spacing of 5mm between boards). We also supply joists for your sub-frame, (please see separate listing).
